PEP Station PS2000s are equipped with a magnetic card reader allowing the use of magnetic stripe credit cards. The use of credit cards is optional. For those installations where credit card payment is selected, the charging station is required to conform to the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA DSS). The PS2000 has been fully tested for credit card use and has been certified by the PCI Security Standards Council as a validated payment application.

The owner of the PEP Station who desires to accept credit cards for payment is considered a Merchant. A Merchant is a business that accepts credit cards in payment for the service of the PEP Station. The Merchant must meet Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). This involves completing a self-assessment questionnaire and paying the appropriate processing fees.
