PS2000 Network Requirements

In order to activate the PEP Station PS2000, Internet connectivity must be established.

PS2000s are required to be connected to the Internet via an Ethernet cable through a customer provided network or through PEP Stations cellular network. For cellular connectivity, an installation kit with an enclosure and cellular 3G EVDO router is provided by PEP Stations.

The PEP Stations cellular connectivity option allows secure Internet access in locations where running hard-wired Ethernet cable is not a viable option, or where company policy does not allow connection of the PEP Station to the corporate network. A cellular router installed near, but external to, the PEP Station provides the Internet connection. This router is packaged inside an enclosure that is designed to be mounted onto a post or wall, and provides for placement of an 'Electric Vehicle Parking' sign on the front of the enclosure.

The Ethernet Internet connection can be provided via a dedicated line from an Internet Service Provider, a DMZ (demilitarized zone) on an existing router, or for larger installations a separate corporate subnet may be established that it is excluded from any proxy servers or firewalls.

Credit card Internet Payment Gateway services ensure transactions are processed safely and securely using the latest standards of encryption and transmission.

Around the clock monitoring of the PS2000 is provided by Axeda Corporation, utilizing state of the art software and reporting tools to ensure maximum up-time and reliability.
